Burton Lewis Arnett, 85, passed away December 18, 2022, at his Pendleton home with his family by his side.
Burton was born May 30, 1937, in Jenkins Kentucky to Lottie and William Arnett. He had three siblings, Betty (predeceased), Bill (surviving) & Brent (surviving).
In 1955, Burton graduated from Jenkins High School, and joined the Marine Corps in 1956. He served in Okinawa from 1956 to 1958.
Upon returning to the States, he married the love of his life Charlotte Arnett, (Watson) on December 26, 1958. The two were each other’s lifelong companions and friends. They were blessed with three children: Joan, Jack & Daniel
Burton is survived by his wife of 63 years, Charlotte W. Arnett, his three children, Joan (Steve), Jack (Renea), & Daniel. Burton is also survived by grandchildren, Tiffany (Kendall), Kerri (Del), and great grandchildren, Shelby, Jabie and Tommy.
During his life, Burton had a love for antiques, sitting for hours studying currency, taking long road trips through the states and he also loved being with his family. One of his greatest joys were sitting around the kitchen table talking, sharing memories, and discussing current events in his children and grand children’s lives.
A memorial service is TBD, and donations in honor of Burton can be made to Hospice of the Upstate and St. Jude.
