Betty Byrum Bridges

Betty Byrum Bridges, 85, of Anderson, SC passed away on Saturday, August 2, 2025 at Linley Park Acute Care.

Born February 21, 1940 in Hartwell, GA, she was a daughter of the late Fletcher Byrum and Laura Ethel Hall Byrum. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Bridges of Anderson, her parents, three brothers, Brodus Byrum, Edward Byrum and Ray Byrum; three sisters, Blanche Koke, Faye McKern and Vinelle White. And grandson Nathaniel Flowers.

She never met a stranger, with that outgoing personality.  She loved to sing for the Glory of the Lord, and did so many years with the group called, The Sweet Spirit Singers, Her alto voice was loud and proud. One of her favorite jobs was being a crossing guard at Concord Elementary School.

She is survived by children, Sandra Souther (Greg) of Anderson, SC; Nora Lynn Lunsford (Ricky) of Dewy Rose, Ga and William Kleinen of Anderson, SC; sister, Mae Ellen Brown; grandchildren, Jason Flowers (Bobbi), Jamie Flowers, Andrew Souther (Rachael), Emily Essex (Drew), Creed Kleinen, and six great-grand children. 

The family will be having a private family celebration of life the end of August.
