Barry Carlton Bowen
April 10, 1958 - March 18, 2023
Barry Carlton Bowen, 64, son of Robert Luther Bowen, Jr. and Bonnie Chapman Bowen, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, March 18, 2023. He was born on April 10, 1958 and was a lifelong resident of Central, SC. He was a 1976 graduate of Daniel High School, a 1980 graduate of Clemson University, and received his MBA from University of Phoenix in 1995. He spent the majority of his career at the Conference Center and Inn at Clemson University. He retired in January 2021 after receiving a diagnosis of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). He was a founding and charter member of Clemson Presbyterian Church in 1985 and of Keowee Presbyterian Church in 2007.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, LaVonda Pevey Bowen, his children Brad (April) Bowen, Brett (Bekah) Bowen, and Bethany (Ryan) MunizBueno; his grandchildren Daniel, Kayla, Joshua, Anna, Clara, Brem, Nathan, and Colin. Survivors also include his brothers Bob and Brian (Edna) Bowen, in-laws Buddy and Anja Pevey, brothers-in-law Bill and James Pevey, and his nieces and nephews James, Michael, Chandler, Harrison, Logan, and Coker.
