Annie Mae Thrasher Everette

Annie Mae Thrasher Everette, 70, passed away unexpectedly on August 25, 2026, at Greenville Memorial Hospital in Greenville, South Carolina.

She was born June 30, 1956, in Westminster, Oconee County, South Carolina, to the late Charlie Lee Norris Thrasher and Samuel Franklin Thrasher. Annie was the widow of her late husband, Joseph Dillard Everette.

Those who knew Annie knew she had a personality all her own. She was funny, stubborn, loud, loving, and very feisty. She was not afraid to speak her mind, and one of her favorite sayings – one her family can still hear in her voice – was, “You know what I mean.” Annie enjoyed gardening and fishing, but above all, she loved her family. Her grandchildren knew her as Nanny, and Nanny loved her grandchildren dearly.

Her daughters carry memories of a mama who made homemade meals, with her biscuits always being a family favorite. Carolyn remembers her mama taking them on adventures to different swimming areas, shoals, and creeks where they could explore, with oldies and goldies playing during their car rides. Pamela fondly remembers laughing, dancing, and jumping on the bed with her mother to “Girls Just Want to Have Fun.” These are the moments – funny, ordinary, adventurous, and full of life – that her family will continue to carry with them.

Annie’s first granddaughter, Brittney Nichole Fisher, held a very special place in her Nanny’s heart. Brittney preceded Annie in death, but the love Annie carried for her remained. Annie is survived by her daughters, Carolyn Yvonne Trueland Collins of Charleston, South Carolina, and Pamela Anne Trueland Rogers of Easley, South Carolina. She is also survived by her grandchildren Lesley Ann Michelle Rogers, Summer Danielle Rogers Perez-Diaz, Ashlyn Lee Ann Collins, Carolyn “Lexi” Collins, Ace Collins, Trinity Collins, Autumn Rogers Bennett, Harley Elizabeth Rogers Day, Candance Heather Rogers, and Cody Austin Whitt; 13 great-grandchildren, one of whom preceded her in death; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. Annie is survived by her siblings Grover Thrasher, Lawrence Thrasher, and Geraldine Thrasher Weathers.

In addition to her parents and husband, Annie was preceded in death by her beloved granddaughter, Brittney Nichole Fisher, and her siblings Janie Thrasher Wood, Tommy Thrasher, Noah Thrasher, Odeal Thrasher Fuller, and Clayton Thrasher.

Annie will be cremated through Anderson Simple Cremations. The family will have a graveside service at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Anderson, South Carolina, at a later date, with details to be announced once arrangements are finalized.

Memorial contributions to assist with Annie’s final arrangements may be made directly to her daughter, Carolyn Collins.

Annie leaves behind far more than names on a family tree. She leaves behind homemade biscuits and fishing trips, gardens and swimming holes, oldies and goldies playing in the car, laughter and dancing, stories her family will tell for years, and generations who knew and loved her as Mama and Nanny. And somewhere in those memories, her family will undoubtedly still hear her saying: “You know what I mean.”
