George Thomas Byrum
George “Tommy” Byrum, age 72 of Townville, SC passed away Thursday, May 25th, 2023, at his home.
Born and raised in Hartwell, Georgia, he was the son of the late George Floyd Byrum, and the late Mary “Della” Byrum. For 25 years, he was the loving husband of Debbie Byrum, and a devoted grandfather to Kelsey Richardson, who he and his wife raised. Tommy was a retired boat mechanic, from Captain Dave’s Boating World, in Anderson, and enjoyed playing golf in his free time.
In addition to his wife, Debbie, he is survived by his granddaughter, Kelsey Richardson (Duran) of Townville; a sister, Brenda Bowen, (Whitner), of Anderson; a step-daughter, Katie Kinney (David) of Townville; and a step-son Wade Cann (Jesse) of Pendleton. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Tommy was preceded in death by a brother, Aubrey Byrum, and a step-daughter, Sonya Cann.
The family will be paying for his cremation, but no service will be held. Instead, the family will have a celebration of life at a later date.
