We met Bob during our first week in Clemson ten years ago. He welcomed us with open arms and was always there for us. He was the most caring man who welcomed generations of students from around the world. The weekly get togethers at his home provided a home away from home for students and colleagues. We will deeply miss him. We are sure that he has a special place in heaven and will find the peace and companionship there that he provided to so many of us. May his soul rest in peace.

I met Bob on my first day at Clemson, and he swiftly became so much more than a colleague. Rarely have I met a more kind and caring man. Bob was a shining example of humanity, who welcomed everyone and gave many people a home away from home. Bob has a special place in many people's hearts and deserves a special place in heaven. He will be deeply missed. Bob, may you find the peace that you wished for everyone.

Edna, Brian, LaVonda, Brad, Bekah, and all the family, I grieve with each of you over this tremendous loss. Bob was a kind soul and invested himself in the lives of others. He personified his savior and now sees him face-to-face. That does not make it easier on this side of heaven, though. Know you are in my prayers.

The Brotherhood of Sigma Chi will miss Bob. He was always willing to help others and even went out of his way for a friend’s son who was making a decision of Clemson or GATech . Of course with Bob’s personality and honest nature he easily convinced this kid to be a Tiger! In Hoc and Godspeed.

I spent many a wonderful evening at Bob's home when he hosted the Sunday gathering for the department members. As her was in all of his encounters, he was a wonderful, caring and gracious host. His impact on the Clemson community is the stuff of legends. He is missed.
