Matthew Ray Dennis, born on June 5, 1963, in Indianapolis, IN, passed away peacefully at his home in South Carolina on December 13, 2024, surrounded by his family. With his warmth, humor, and beautiful smile, Matthew touched the lives of everyone he met.
Matthew was the cherished son of the late Charles Dennis and Trudy Williamson, and his stepmother, Una Dennis, who survives him. He was a devoted brother to Cindy Smiley (Richard), Monica Brown (Warren), John Dennis (Kristie), and stepbrother Andrew Shay (Kim). The deep bond he shared with his siblings brought immense joy and strength to his life. He also had many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly, and they brought him great happiness.
He is survived by his wife, Amy Dennis, who was his partner and best friend. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories. Matthew was a proud and devoted stepfather to Kayla and Garrett Houck, whom he loved unconditionally.
Matthew began his career as a Respiratory Therapist, a role that reflected his deep passion for caring for others. His dedication to helping people led him to apply his expertise in medical devices and build a successful career in medical device sales. He found great fulfillment in his work and took immense pride in mentoring colleagues, generously sharing his knowledge and experience to help others succeed.
Services will be held in Florida on February 22nd at 11 a.m. at Bee Ridge Presbyterian Church, 4826 McIntosh Road, Sarasota. Additionally, a small family and friends gathering will take place in Indianapolis during the summer to celebrate his life.
Though he has left this world, Matthew’s legacy of love, peace, and kindness for those he cared about will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed but forever cherished.
